What Is a Micro Swimsuit?

A micro swimsuit is minimalist swimwear: extremely small triangle tops paired with ultra-narrow string or thong bottoms. It’s built for minimal coverage and minimal tan lines — and “micro swimsuit” and “micro bikini” describe the same family, with “swimsuit” simply being the more general word.

The default micro swimsuit is two pieces. One-piece versions exist — monokinis, slingshots and strappy styles — but they’re explicit variants, not the default reading of the term.
